At T&T Construction Management Group, summer is not just a season; it’s a transformative experience for our interns. Each year, we carefully select a group of aspiring professionals who are eager to immerse themselves in the vibrant world of construction. Our dedicated internship committee strives to provide hands-on learning opportunities that empower the next generation as they embark on their career journeys.
During the summer of 2024, our Southeast team welcomed two interns; Brian and Nick.
We believe in fostering talent, so from the moment Nick and Brian arrived, we ensured they were surrounded by experienced mentors. They jumped right into the role of Intern Field Project Engineer where they were not merely observers; they were given the opportunity to actively engage and contribute to real projects.
During Nick and Brian’s 10-week journey with us, they became integral members of our team. They joined the operations team experiencing slab pours, tilt pours, tilt lifts, budget management, vendor coordination and many other industry-specific tasks. Our interns even got to operate heavy equipment during one of their many job site visits. 
For the last week of their journey with us, they returned to our corporate office to learn from our preconstruction team. Here, our interns worked with our preconstruction and estimating teams to learn how to obtain quotes from clients, read detailed drawings, and acquire skills to work with software solutions like PlanSwift and Sage.
Reflecting on his experience, T&T Construction intern Brian Guerra notes,
“This internship has taught me and given me the opportunity to figure out who I want to be in the field, who I want to be as a person, and what I want to be in the future.”
