Rebecca also discusses the importance of her company’s certification through the Women’s Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC). “I’ve been fortunate to have many influential role models and mentors throughout my career, particularly through my involvement in women in construction and women-owned business organizations,” Thomas said. “Being part of these communities has given me access to a network of strong, successful women who have navigated the challenges of this industry and paved the way for others. Their guidance and support have been invaluable.”
Thomas shared that T&T Construction Management Group, Inc. recognizes that sustainable building practices are not just a trend but are necessary for long-term success in the AEC industry. Across the company’s portfolio, Thomas cited as a personal favorite Project OCF, the Orange County Fire Rescue Training Facility in Orlando, which provided a state-of-the-art training environment. For women in the AEC industry, she also shared her insights on being dedicated, seeking growth opportunities, and adding value to teams.
“My advice to other women is to understand your gifts and talents and lean into them,” Thomas said. “Seek mentorship, don’t be afraid to ask questions, and never let the need for approval define your success.”
